The poster is a sketch of 2 black and white ice hockey goalie helmets (masks) facing each other. Each mask has a different design, one harsher, sharper and fitter than the other. A goalie mask can also be called a goaltender mask, hockey mask which is not only for ice hockey but other types such as field hockey, inline hockey,... These designs of combination helmet/cage were made popular since the 1970s. Firstly, it lacks some safety factors like full fiberglass (or plastic, composite materials) but then complemented and went into use in the late 1990s. Following the life-threatening injury of a hockey player, more of this mask adopted a plastic extension to guard the neck, usually hanging loose. Today, the full fiberglass hockey goalie helmet with the birdcage facial protector is the more popular option because it is safer and offers better visibility.
